Where to Find Nintendo Wii Consoles in Stock – Nintendo Wii Consoles Available Now

July 18th, 2009 No Comments   Posted in New Wii Games - Features

I have been around video gaming for quite some time and I have probably owned about every system that has come out on the market.   Ever since I first played the Nintendo Wii, however, I realized that there was a lot more to enjoying videogames than simply sitting on the couch with a controller in my hand.   I knew from that very moment that I had to own one of these game systems but unfortunately, it is very difficult to find the Nintendo Wii console in stock. Often, people spend an entire night standing outside of the store, waiting for it to open in order to get their new Nintendo.   There really is not a need for you to do this because if you know how to use the Internet, it is easy to find a Nintendo Wii console in stock.   All you really need to do is to know which websites to look on and you can easily find one.   I wish I would’ve thought of this whenever I first decided to get the game because the first console that I bought cost me an entire night and I ended up catching a cold for my trouble. Instead of sitting outside of the store, spending an entire night to see if they have a Nintendo Wii console in stock for you or not, simply surf over to a Wii website and you will find one easily.   After I ended up giving my first game to my little nephew, I decided that I would not spend any more time outside of the store.   I ordered it online and had it in just a few days.
The best site I’ve found for getting a Nintendo Wii Console in Stock is http://wiiconsolesandmore. com – They always have Wii consoles for sale and can ship within a few days. Check them out today and get your Wii console.

The Wii is so much fun to play. If you don’t have one, you are really missing out.

Nintendo Wii Backwards Compatibility

July 17th, 2009 No Comments   Posted in New Wii Games - Features

It recently struck me when talking to friends that not many people know that the Nintento Wii is backwards compatible with the Gamecube, and even includes connectivity for the Game Boy Advance. Nintendo Wii Backwards Compatibility is not all plain sailing though as this article explains. When the Nintendo Wii was introduced, one of the main advantages of the console for many gamers was the fact that it could play Nintendo GameCube games too. With backwards capability, you can use all GameCube games and accessories on the Nintendo Wii. However, there are a few slight problems which you will have to take into account. The Potential Problems of Playing GameCube Games on the Wii The main disadvantage which comes with playing GameCube games on the Wii is that you cannot always save your game. So you could be doing really well on a game but you cannot save it and so you would lose everything you had just done. This is especially a problem with adventure style games which take quite a long time to complete. If you would like to be able to save your game then you can always purchase a Nintendo GameCube memory card. That should allow you to save any GameCube game on your Wii. If you do want to play GameCube games on your Nintendo Wii then another thing that you will have to purchase is a GameCube controller, if of course you don’t already own one. Obviously the controllers for the two consoles are completely different. This means that if you attempted to play a GameCube game with a Nintendo Wii controller, it simply would not work. So you do need to ensure that you have some of the GameCube accessories before you use the games on your Wii console. Another advantage which comes from the Nintendo Wii having GameCube ports is that you can also connect a Game Boy Advance as well as an e-Reader. However again you will need accessories to be able to use this and for the Game Boy Advance you will need a Game Boy Advance Cable. One thing that also may be a problem is that since the firmware has been updated to 3. 0 the console may now not be completely compatible with the GameCube Action Replay feature. This works with GameCube games and so you may experience some problems when you do try to play various games designed specifically for the GameCube. Finally the Wii will not be compatible with GameCube composite video, component video cables and S-Video due to it using a proprietary port. So there are some negative things that you have to keep in mind when looking into using the Nintendo Wii for GameCube games. Overall though, it is definitely an advantage that you can play GameCube games on the console. It means that anybody who has previously bought a GameCube before the Wii will be able to still play the games on both consoles. It is easier than having to keep switching between the two machines and the graphics are also really good when playing on the Wii too. Overall Nintendo Wii Backwards Compatibility is a great added benefit to an already excellent gaming system.

Should You Buy a Nintendo Wii?

July 17th, 2009 No Comments   Posted in New Wii Games - Features

I’ve noticed a lot of people asking the question “Should I buy a Nintendo Wii game console?”. Since its release in November 2006, the wii has dominated the current generation console battle, with its combination of a cheap price point, unique control system, and family values. This isn’t to say that the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 haven’t seen their own successes, but Nintendo seem to have hit a slightly different demographic of consumer, which has lead to an amazing uptake of their console. To determine which console is best for you, requires you to weigh up the current pros and cons of each platform, which hopefully this article will help you out with. It’s easy to forget that the current generation of consoles has been around a few years now, and the original appeal of each platform has change over the years. Prices have changed, game catalogs have matured, and event he platforms themselves have seen further developments. PriceInitially the Wii was the cheapest console of the current generation, but this has swapped around a bit recently. The chart below is ordered by UK recommended retail price price ascending, and includes all current versions of each console. £129. 99/$199. 99 Xbox 360 Arcade (256MB)£169. 99/$299. 99 Xbox 360 Premium (60GB)£179. 99/£249. 99 Wii (512MB)£229. 99/$399. 99 Xbox 360 Elite (120GB)£299. 99/$399. 99 Playstation 3 (80GB)£339. 99/$499. 99 Playstation 3 (160GB)As you can see, the Xbox 360 Arcade is the cheapest game console available, and it undercuts the Wii by and an impressive £50/$50. The biggest downside of the Arcade model is the lack of substantial storage space, so for UK consumers the premium version is slightly more appealing with its 60GB hard drive, and price point which is £10 less than the Wii. You should note that these are only recommended retail prices, so you can most likely get them slightly cheaper if you hunt around various retailers. The Wii has been in constant short supply since its release, so appears to hold its value significantly better that the other consoles, and is less susceptible to discounted prices. Also unlike the other consoles, the Wii has not seen a single official price reduction since its release, and is expected not to change until the supply finally exceeds demand. GraphicsThe Wii is often described as being based on the last generations hardware, with it having very similar performance to the Nintendo GameCube. Despite this, it’s proved a very easy platform to develop games for, and Nintendo themselves have shown that they can squeeze every last drop of graphics performance out of it, with titles such as Mario Galaxy, and Metroid Prime. It’s very obvious that both the Xbox 360 and PS3 have graphics potential way beyond the Wii, and they have already produced some stunning looking games. There isn’t a lot between the two consoles themselves, with cross platform titles looking pretty similar on both bits of hardware. It will still be another year or so before we see the true potential of these consoles, but that’s something to look forward to. It’s important to note that both the Xbox 360 and PS3 do 1080p hi-def output, which looks great on your massive TV. The wii unfortunately will only do a maximum of 480p, which can’t start looking pretty rubbish on bigger screens. There are many rumours that Nintendo will offer an upgraded version of the Wii at some point, which will correct this limitation. ControlsAs you may know, the Wii has got funky motion controls, which allow the console to detect how you are swinging the controller around, or if you are pointing it a specific direction. It’s certainly not just a gimmick, and can be very effective, although sometimes games do get it wrong. Luckily, the Wii controls are very good and standard style game play, so games designers are not being restricted by it. The controller consists of a remote (WiiMote) and an optional separate analogue stick (Nunchuck), which are connected together by a short cable. The controls themselves are wireless, and include a built in speaker and rumble effects. The PS3 also boasts motion controls, but they’ve not been implemented as widely or successfully as the Wii Controllers. Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 have quite standard style controllers, and come in both wired and wireless form. All versions of the 360 controller have a rumble feature, and so does the latest version of the PS3 controller. GamesEach console has it’s own set of exclusive titles which are only available on that specific system. Nintendo have been around a while now, and have some long running franchises such as Mario, Zelda, and Metroid. Sony and Microsoft also have some great exclusives, including Grand Turismo and Killzone for the PS3, and Halo and Gears of War for the 360. It’s important for you to identify any specific titles that you wish to play, and checkout which consoles they are available for. Online FeaturesEach console supports a variety of online features, including online play, web browsing, and media downloads. Both the Wii and PS3 are free to play games online, while the 360 requires you pay for their subscription service. Many people consider the online features of the Xbox 360 superior to the PS3 and Wii, although all are quite adequate for online play. Both the Wii and PS3 have web browsers so that you can access the internet, while the 360 lacks this feature for now. Download-able content varies between consoles. The Wii allows you to download system updates, applications, retro and indie games. The 360 supports everything that the Wii does, but also includes game demos, and TV/Movie Downloads. Currently the PS3s features are very similar to 360, although movie downloads are only currently available in the US. Hardware FeaturesEach console has additional hardware features that may influence your decision when purchasing. The Wii and PS3 come with wireless networking as standard, while the xBox 360 comes with an wired ethernet port, and the option to purchase a separate wireless adapter. The Wii does not support any formats for playing movies. The PS3 supports Blu-ray and DVD playback, the xBox 360 supports DVD playback, and also the now fairly redundant HD-DVD format via an optional external drive. The Wii is backwards compatible with most GameCube titles, and even supports GameCube control pads via four ports on the top of the console. Current UK versions of the PS3 only support original Playstation titles, and no longer support PS2 games. The xBox 360 will play a wide selection of original xBox games, but you will require a hard drive to play them. I’m no audiophile, but it’s useful to note how the 3 consoles support surround sound. The Wii simulates it using Dolby Pro-Logic II through an analogue connection, while the 360 and PS3 both support 5. 1 surround sound via digital optical connections. It’s important to note that it really comes down to the games, and how well they are designed to support multiple sounds channels. ConclusionThere are obviously many factors to consider when buying any console, so it’s not always a straight forward decision. So should you buy a Nintendo Wii? Comparing price and features, you may find that the other consoles are more appealing, but if your interested in the motion control, or Nintendo’s exclusive titles, then the Wii may be for you.

Nintendo Wii

July 17th, 2009 No Comments   Posted in New Wii Games - Features

It’s safe to say that the Nintendo Wii is the nation’s favourite console this year after the latest set of results show that it has dominated the games market by 52% in January and selling nearly 700,000 units in this month alone. With such a variety of games and add-ons available on the Wii it’s no wonder that they completely outsold their competitors by such a phenomenal amount this year. Part of the reason the Nintendo Wii has met such great success is down to the fact it is unlike any other console currently on the market. Using hand held motion controlled sensors and balance boards to interact with the games employs the user to get involved in the games, rather than just playing them. Not only is the Wii great for playing on your own, but unlike a lot of other consoles the Nintendo Wii is great fun to play in large groups of people. Laughing at your family and friends swinging for a virtual tennis ball on Wii Sports can be very entertaining. As the Nintendo Wii gets older, newer and more advanced technologies are being released for it. The latest of these would be the balance board which can be combined with the latest fitness craze; Wii Fit. As demonstrated recently in the news, not only is the Wii Fit being used at home, but now is also being used for special needs physical education classes. This technology has helped many children who would normally be unable to take part in different sports get the chance to do so. As well as moving with the times and keeping up with the latest technologies, the Nintendo Wii is also going retro by bringing out original games that were on the commodore 64 that will be available to play on the Wii. The Nintendo Wii is already backwards compatible to the game cube and so is open to many more games than people originally thought. What the Nintendo Wii lacks in graphics and detail it certainly makes up for it with some of the best fun-filled games around. Getting the user directly involved in the game is a genius idea and I personally cannot wait for any new releases that will be brought out. There are so many places selling the Nintendo Wii and the Wii Fit a good deal can be found fairly easy. Once you have your Nintendo Wii, you may find it useful to look for Wii Cheats and codes, as well as hints and tips to guide you through the games.

Nintendo Wii: Rewrote the History of Consoles

July 11th, 2009 No Comments   Posted in New Wii Games - Features

The Wii, the fifth home video game console from Nintendo, is the direct successor to the Nintendo Game Cube. The console was launched targeting a broader demographic than that of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3, its competitors. The distinguishing features of the console are the wireless controller, and the Wii that can be used as a handheld pointing device and could detect acceleration in three dimensions. It was in the 2004 E3 press conference, that Nintendo first spoke of the gaming console model and later unveiled the system at the 2005 E3. The gaming console was known by the name of “Revolution” until April 27, 2006, immediately prior to E3. It is the first home console has marketed outside Japan without the company name featured in the trademark. Despite the justifications from Nintendo for the name, there were a wide preference among some game developers for the name Revolution and members of the press initially reacted negatively towards the change.

It was in September 14, 2006 that the company announced the release of the Nintendo Wii gaming console for Japan, North and South America, Australasia, Asia and Europe including dates, prices, and projected unit distribution numbers. It was announced that the majority of the 2006 shipments would be allotted to the Americas and that 33 titles would be available in the 2006 launch window. Nintendo announced that it would release its console in South Korea at the beginning of 2008.

The launch of the console showed remarkable results in the sales. The monthly sales numbers of the console crossed its competitors across the globe. As per the NPD Group, the Wii sold more units than the Xbox 360 and Play Station 3 in the North America combined in the first half of 2007. In Australia, the Nintendo Wii exceeded the record set by the Xbox 360 by Microsoft, becoming the fastest selling gaming console in Australian history. This is the first time this console has led its generation in sales since the Super Nintendo Entertainment system. The Company warned that the it would remain in short supply throughout 2007, while the company produces approximately 1. 8 million Wii consoles each month. At a time when Microsoft and Sony experienced losses producing their consoles in the hopes of making a long-term profit on software sales, Nintendo reportedly has optimised production costs to obtain a significant profit margin with each Wii unit sold. As per the Financial Times, this direct profit per Wii sold may vary from $13 in Japan to $49 in the United States and $79 in Europe.

Problems Consumers Have Experienced With the Nintendo Wii

July 11th, 2009 No Comments   Posted in New Wii Games - Features

While most people out there are very happy with their Nintendo Wii some consumers have found it isn’t what they expected. The good news is that these seem to be isolated incidents instead of a problem with the development and technology that was used to create the program.
It seems that the most common problem that people experienced with the Nintendo Wii had to do with the power source. It simply wasn’t fitting properly and therefore not enough power was supplied. Imagine being in the middle of a very competitive game and then you lose the power to it. Not something you want to experience on a regular basis. Nintendo has changed the design for the adapters though with the newer consoles. Anyone with an older one that offers such trouble can ask for a new one to be sent to them free of charge.
For some individuals, their Nintendo Wii has been working just fine for a very long time. Then suddenly they start to experience error codes that pop up. Sometimes this is an indicator that your Wii needs to have work done on it. However, most of the time it is due to a glitch with an update that occurred. Since Nintendo sends such updates automatically to your system you may not even be aware that they took place.
For example when they updated the connection to the internet recently these errors were coming up all over the place. In many cases this can be reset and you are on your way. Some people have had to either send their Wii in to be repaired at no cost or Nintendo sent them a new one for free though. There weren’t too many of them though were a patch wasn’t able to repair the problem without any action on the part of the consumer though.
A few people have purchased Wii consoles that didn’t work at all. They were doing everything right but they just got a bad system. Even though Nintendo does test them at the factory a bad one does slip by now and then. Such issues are easily resolved though by returning the first gaming console to the retailer or by contacting Nintendo directly. It can be disappointing but you won’t have to be worry about losing out on the money you paid for it.
While it is unfortunate that some consumers have experienced problems with the Nintendo Wii, it is to be expected with any product of this magnitude. The good news is that Nintendo is going to offer you their full support on getting the situation rectified. You will find plenty of good reviews about this all over the internet. While it won’t be fun when you have such problems, knowing you can get great customer service does make a big difference.
Nintendo also takes the situations that seem to be a common theme and makes them better. One of these issues has to do with the wrist strap to hold the Wiimote in place. A common complaint was that it was very weak. Therefore Nintendo developed a stronger one that is offered with the consoles on the market now. Consumers can go online or call to request that a replacement is sent to them at no charge as well.
